What is PPN 06/21?
Procurement Policy Note 06/21 requires UK government suppliers bidding for contracts over £5 million to publish a Carbon Reduction Plan and commit to achieving net zero by 2050. This policy drives Scope 3 reporting requirements.
Why it matters
PPN 006 has made carbon reporting a commercial requirement for thousands of UK businesses. Even companies not directly bidding for government contracts are affected as prime contractors cascade the requirement down to their subcontractors and supply chain partners.
